Making East Gippsland safer to ride and walk
A volunteer group advocating for better paths, safer crossings and bike education across the region.
Safe, equitable and functional active transport for everyone
East Gippsland Active Transport works with councils, VicRoads and the community to make cycling and walking safer and better connected - so more people of all ages can leave the car at home.
Bairnsdale to Paynesville shared path
Our flagship campaign: a safe, off-road walking and cycling path linking Bairnsdale and Paynesville. We have pushed for it for over a decade, and we are not stopping until it is built.
Where to ride
We also share the best local rides and walks - each with a map and a GPX download.
Dandenong Ferntree Gully Hallam
A 56km train-accessible ride from Dandenong Station up the Dandenong Creek Trail to Upper Ferntree Gully, then on to Hallam.
Freestone and Beverley's
A 61km gravel adventure with big climbs and descents past Blue Pools, through Stockdale and along Beverley's Rd. Requires a car shuffle.
Wy Yung Lindenow Figure of 8
A 55km figure-of-eight on mostly quiet roads between Wy Yung and Lindenow, with around 30% gravel and plenty of hills.
